Ensemble GERMAIN et VICTORINE - Bag with orders Shoulder Strap and Belt Style 1940s Period Restriction Textile, French Manufacture - Rusty

Madame George is a French brand based in Toulouse, born from a passion for fashion in the 1940s.
We offer items directly inspired by French fashion from about 1938 to 1946, mostly reproduced from period models from our personal collection.
All our items are made in a totally artisanal way, with finishes and embroidery by hand, and using a maximum of materials and techniques of the period.


DESCRIPTION:
* The GERMAIN bag model is directly inspired by a bag from the textile restriction period.
Portable adjustable shoulder bag on the shoulder or across the body, practical, very representative of the models of the 40s in vogue in France during the period of restriction.
This model is mounted on a cardboard "skeleton" following the technique used at the time to compensate for the lack of raw materials. The fabric used is a mestizo with a slightly coarse orders weave, whose shades and appearance will be perfect for autumn as well as for spring or summer. The colors are cream, green and brick/rust. The strap, the sides and bottom, and the clasp are made of a fabric of linen and viscose mixed (modern), of a very beautiful brick / rust tone. The lining is made of cream silk with very thin blue-gray stripes, and has a small pocket (fabric coming from my Grandmother).
Bag stitched machine then fully assembled by hand, requiring about 8 hours of work in all.

* The VICTORINE belt model is directly inspired by a belt from the textile restriction period.
Belt with ventral part and lacing closure at the front. Art Deco style very representative of the models of the 40s in vogue in France at the time.
This piece is made of the same fabrics used in the matching Germain bag: checkered mestizo on the two ventral pieces, plain lin-viscose mixture on the band as well as the interior. Metal carnations aged brass color, old dark green laces.



> Keep in mind that our bags and belts are made using period techniques and materials: they are not off-road parts, it is advisable to take a minimum care of them, and to absolutely avoid exposing them to water!
